LittleYell is the brainchild of Scott Daniel and Jeff Kunzelman, two computer dudes that met in college and have since collaborated on a number of startups and worked together at a number of companies after they sold the startups. Basically, Scott and Jeff have been stuck with each other for over thirty very productive years.
LittleYell is the solution to a problem they saw as a gap in the tools for sending short messages. There are tools that reasonably easy to use to send short messages that are not very useful and there are useful tools that are hard to use. LittleYell attempts to be useful and easy to use.
