Yell at your Fangroup
When you have a group with hundreds or thousands or members, you probably don't want everyone to Yell. That's where a Fan Group comes in. With a Fan Group, you can let just a few select members Yell, but everyone can listen to what they have to say.
For example, if you are a High School or College with fans of 10 or 20 sports teams, you can let one or two coaches or managers of each team Yell, but the entire student body, the parents, teachers, alumni, and fans can all get the Yells! The scorekeeper or manager can text the half-time score of the big game from his phone to keep everyone informed. It's pretty awesome.
A Fan Group works anywhere a small group of folks need to keep a large group informed. It could be a Rock Band Yelling at their fans, the School Administration Yelling to parents, or the Ministers and Church Leadership Yelling at their congregation or parrish.
The quality of the group's content and the frequency of the messages is controlled by a small group doing the Yelling so the audience members are not overwhelmed by messages.
Creating a Fan Group
To create a Fan Group, simply select Fan Group on step two (see example at right) when you create your group. This will ensure that only the people you designate as Leaders and Administrators can Yell. Other members can join and receive messages. It's easy
After you've invited or added users to your group, click on Manage Members in the wrench tool. For the users you want to Yell, change the status to Leader or Administrator. For more information see Manage Members
