Manage group members
Click on the wrench tool from your group page or anywhere your group is listed and select Manage Members to manage your member list. Any administrator can manage members.
Member Status
Each member of your group a status from this list below.
- Member (a regular member)
- Leader (Yell, but not manage)
- Administrator (all powerful)
- Blocked (cannot join)
- Pending (waiting for approval)
- Invited (invited, yet to join)
You can change a Member's status to Leader, Administrator or Blocked using the simply drop down choice next to each user's name.
Administrators
You become an administrator automatically when you create a group. An administrator can do anything (Yell, view, manage, etc) except change their own status.
Leaders
Leaders (some groups software calls this a "moderator") has permission to do special stuff in some group configurations. For example, in a Fan Group, a Leader can Yell, while a Member cannot. Check out group privacy for more information about settings.
Removing a Member
Click on the remove link to remove a user from your group. Note that if your group member is open, the member can join again. If you want to ensure that a member cannot join the group as a member, change their status to Blocked.Approving Members
If your group require approval before membership, and there are pending members, they will appear in a separate list at the top of your manage members page. From this list, you can approve or remove each prospective member.
Invited Members
Members you have invited that have not responded to your invitation appear in a list before you full members. From this list you can resent invitations. Please note that invitations sent by mobile text will not be delivered more than once unless the user is a LittleYell member.Blocked Members
Blocked members will appear in a separate list below the regular members. You can change a blocked member to a member or remove them from the list. Note that if you remove them from the list, they can join the group again.
